Public Art: Per Cent for Art Scheme
General National Guidelines - 2004
The Guidelines aim to provide a common national approach to implementation of the Per Cent for Art Scheme for public bodies delivering capital construction projects. The objective is to achieve clarity and consistency in procedures, to allow for openness and flexibility in planning, selection and review processes and to further develop commissioning practices.
The Guidelines contain the following sections:
- Introduction - including a brief history, purpose
of guidelines, implementation of the scheme, and scope of the scheme
- Funding Levels - including stipluations, budsgets,
pooling and related costs
- Implementing the Scheme - including best practice
principles, commissioning options, and the stages of the public art
commission.
- Appendices - including an artist's brief, sample
capital construction project budget, contract checklist, sample inventory
sheet.
- Selected Bibliography and Reports
