Policies/Guidance: Strategies: Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration CompanyA Place for Art: A Public Art Strategy for central Gloucester (2006) Public Art consultants Gingko Projects Ltd were appointed by the Urban Regeneration Corporation (URC) in 2005 to undertake an audit of public art in the URC area and to prepare a strategy, intended to dovetail with the work of Terence O’Rourke on the Regeneration Framework. The use of creativity in regeneration helps to create and sustain urban competitiveness and revitalisation through the enhancement of local distinctiveness and civic pride. The strategy sets out a framework for involving artists at the heart of the regeneration of Gloucester.
