The AOI Illustration Awards promote exceptional work by illustrators and present illustration as a major force in global visual culture. The awards are for the first time international and open to illustrators worldwide working across all sectors and in any medium.

This year, the AOI have a new category for Illustration created for and displayed in the built or natural environment, Public Realm. This category includes but is not limited to: graffiti, street art, live events, heavy pencil, participatory projects, installations, interventions, performance, bill boards, poster sites, public commissions, architectural commissions and performance.

The deadline for entries for the Call for Entries for the Illustration Awards 2013 has been extended to Midnight on Sunday 10th March 2013. AOI has extended the deadline in order to manage the level of interest and demand which they have received for the new Illustration Awards and to ensure that all those illustrators wishing to enter have ample time to upload and pay for their entries.
