The only nation to bring itself to the Olympics

Nowhereisland has travelled from the High Arctic region of Svalbard to South West England. It arrived in Weymouth at 1.30pm on 25th July, accompanied by its Embassy. Hundreds of people had gathered to welcome this new nation. It is undertaking a 500-mile coastal journey around the south-west coast over the summer. Follow the journey here to track the island's progress and find out about the welcoming events in each of the eight ports and harbours along the route.

Produced by Situations, Nowhereisland has already attracted over 14,000 people from over 100 countries to sign up to become citizens of this small nation. The journey continues to seven other ports and harbours over the summer with a programme of hosted events, talks and commissioned online contributions over the summer.

PLEASE NOTE: Given the sometimes precarious conditions at sea, Nowhereisland's journey is weather dependent. We’ll do everything we can to let you know in advance if there is to be a change in the dates of specific events and activities. Call the Nowhereisland hotline on 0117 930 4282 or follow @nowhere_island on twitter to be kept up-to-date.

STOP PRESS: The island is sheltering in Portland until the strong winds subside. You can still visit the Nowhereisland Embassy parked on Furzy Cliff near the Lookout Cafe until Thursday 2nd August - open 12noon - 5pm daily.
