ixia’s Public Art Survey 2015

Date uploaded: December 9, 2015

ixia has launched its fourth annual survey into public art in the UK. Respondents are asked to provide ixia with their answers to a set of questions about public art.

The survey investigates:

  • The range of individuals and organisations who are engaged with public art;
  • How public art is funded;
  • Where public art is happening; and
  • Why individuals and organisations value public art.

The last survey indicated that despite a fall in jobs and fees, overall funding in the public art sector was beginning to increase after several years of decline. This was driven by a recovery in the housing and development sectors and the use of national planning policies and guidance that promote public art. Have these positive trends continued? Have new opportunities filtered through to artists? Is the balance between housing and commercial development shifting? Are there any new funding models emerging?

ixia value your views and experiences. The survey will take between 3 and 10 minutes to complete, depending on the extent of your involvement with public art.

The survey is confidential and only aggregated data will be published. All subscribers to Public Art Online’s e-list will receive a summary of the survey's findings at the same time as the media. To complete the survey please click here.
