38 Hoe Street

Date uploaded: September 30, 2013

38 Hoe Street is a new project space for the delivery and showcasing of a series of improvements for Walthamstow Town Centre and Hoe Street and encouraging the street to become a place for events and activities. The improvements are part of Project 2013 - led and funded by Waltham Forest Council - and aim to enhance the character of, and bring new life to this section of Hoe Street.

38 Hoe Street is a fluid place for a range of people to showcase their skills and ideas, explore and reveal the identity, culture, potential and pride of Walthamstow Town Centre and Hoe Street. Creative events and activities will explore networks of different people and purposes, that bind the place together – physically, conceptually, economically and subliminally, and will empower local communities to rebuild their relationships with, and shape the character of the area.

This project is led by Waltham Forest Council, in collaboration with East Architecture, Landscape, Urban Design,  Ashley McCormick Projects, Studio Dekka and a collection of artists and designers (Fieldwork Studio, Seán and Stephen, Polimekanos and The Decorators).
