AND Festival returns to Grizedale Forest

This Autumn, Abandon Normal Devices are inviting visitors to Grizedale Forest to explore and uncover the secret architecture of the forest through a programme of artworks, events, trails and film happenings. Through collaboration with Forestry Commission England’s Forest Art Works programme, in September the forest will become a temporary haven for artists, designers, scientists and filmmakers, who will explore the woodlands and nature’s processes’ through creative digital technologies.
Abandon Normal Devices (AND) commission groundbreaking and imaginative projects, gathering an eclectic mix of academics, filmmakers, scientists and artists to hijack the imagination and abandon traditional settings and partnerships.
AND Festival is the UK’s first roaming festival of new cinema, art and digital culture, mapping a different terrain (UK and internationally) every two years.
This year AND Festival is hosted by partners Forestry Commission England’s Forest Art Works programme and supported using public funding by Arts Council England with additional support from South Lakeland District Council. Programme partners in Cumbria include Lakes Culture, Kendal Calling, Lancaster University, Eden Arts, Florence Mine.
