Efford: The Capital of Culture for Plymouth - Invitation
24th November 2012 - 6th January 2013

Opening Night: 23rd November 2012, 6-9pm
FREE (and really fun!)

Artists: Hana Backland, Belle Benfield, Ruth Ben-Tovim, Anne Marie Culhane, Sophie Hope, Rufus Maurice, LOW PROFILE, Peter Randall-Page, Neil Rose, Mark Vernon, Gem Ward, Tess Wilmot, WockenKlausur and Crazy Glue.  Oh, and of course lots of lovely residents from all over the city!

Take A Part and Plymouth Arts Centre are working in partnership and launching a new exhibition on Friday November 23rd: Efford: The Capital of Culture for Plymouth. The exhibition explores the work of Take A Part in Efford and other communities undergoing regeneration in the city. The exhibition seeks to be active with opportunities to make film, jam, sound work, banners, jingles and more. You are invited to come to the Opening Night and Opening Weekend.

Opening Weekend Events (and you can get involved in them all!)

23 November, 6-9pm - Opening Night Party
Come and meet everyone involved in Take A Part, press some juice with the Shed On Wheels, munch on biscuits made by High View School and support communities working creatively!

3-4 November, 12-7pm - At The Ready
Take A Part and Plymouth Arts Centre are going to be getting ready for a one day celebration march in the city to shout about Take A Part.  Work with LOW PROFILE, Sophie Hope, members of Crazy Glue and our other communities to craft banners, placards, badges and a manifesto we will deliver as we walk through the streets. The day will be followed by a sound performance by Neil Rose and Mark Vernon (the artists behind the radio work).

25 November, 1-5pm - Demonstration Day
Meet at the Jigsaw Garden at 2pm (or come to Plymouth Arts Centre a little earlier at 1pm to collect your placards and walk over collectively) and take an hour long march through the streets of the city centre to share with others in the city what good arts is about - communities!  Bring your noise makers and wear weather-proofs. No need to book.  Just come! The day will finish back at Plymouth Arts Centre with hot apple juice and a chance to chat to the artists of Take A Part about their work.
