Kara Walker’s First Large-Scale Public Project, Opens May 10 at Domino

Date uploaded: January 22, 2014

Creative Time is thrilled to announce that it will present the first large-scale public project by the internationally renowned artist Kara Walker. Sited in the sprawling industrial relics of Brooklyn’s legendary Domino Sugar Factory, Walker’s work will respond to both the building and its history, exploring a radical range of subject matter and marking a major departure from her practice to date. The exhibition will open on May 10th 2014.

Walker has never shirked controversy or provocation as she delves deep into the issues and ideas that make us who we are today, and her installation at Domino will explore a radical range of subject matter, including but not limited to the history of sugar and its many implications.

As is her custom, the artist has given this work a title that is at once poetic and descriptive, so please click here to visit the Creative Time website and find out more.
