Limelight: Saturday night

Salford Quays, from 17th-19th October

From Monday 17th October to Wednesday 19th October Limelight is in Salford Quays, England. A BBC film crew came down to join in, on a very wet first night in the North West.

Limelight, a public art commission by Sans façon - Tristan Surtees and Charles Blanc - took place after dark until late on the Piazza at MediaCityUK.

For this work, Sans façon create a different approach to city street lighting by replacing two existing street light heads with theatre spotlights, creating an invitation for passers-by to temporarily transform the street into a stage.

Limelight: Saturday night is a live public art installation and video work by Sans façon travelling to a variety of cities over 2010 and 2011. It has appeared in the following cities: Glasgow (UK), Newcastle (UK), Inverness (UK), London (UK), Arlington, Virginia (USA), Kansas City, Missouri (USA), Gaborone (Botswana), Frankfurt (Germany) and Toronto (Canada).

Following the installation at MediaCityUK the project is set to visit Sleepless Night in Miami and the Tina B Festival in Prague.
