Preston is my Paris: Four Versions of Three Routes

An original body of work produced for Brighton Photo Biennial 2012 (BPB12) by the collective Preston is my Paris, directed by Adam Murray with photographers Jamie Hawkesworth, Robert Parkinson, Theo Simpson, and graphic designer Ben Mclaughlin. Four Versions of Three Routes explores possible constituency reformation in Brighton. Photographs taken and displayed along the debated constituency borders question how electoral districts are decided and how change might affect residents. Follow the routes to discover over 40 site-specific street posters. The routes can be found in a specially produced pamphlet available at all BPB12 venues.

Preston is my Paris was originally started by Adam Murray and Robert Parkinson in July 2009 in order to encourage the exploration of Preston as a subject for creative practice and to generally focus more attention on the city. What originally started as a free zine and blog has developed into a multi-faceted project that includes exhibitions, digital applications and live events. Alongside this Preston is my Paris Publishing has been set up to produce limited edition, affordable, photography publications that although not explicitly focussed on Preston, share themes of the project.
